Fall Class

Mark it down- September 11th for Tai Chi at the Firehouse Center in Fairhaven. Beginner and continuing class: 3:30-4:30

A blog to give updates on classes and topics of interest to students and prospective students with Humphrey Blackburn. We have a regular class at the Firehouse Center in Fairhaven every Friday afternoon at 3:30. Come join us. Wu style long form is an upright form of Tai Chi emphasizing continuous motion and energy flow. Flexibility, good balance, lower body strength, and body awareness are one result. Another is a deep sense of relaxation. Another is focus and attentiveness without distraction. Another is essential martial arts principals of balance, no-contest, focusing energy, calmness in the face of conflict.

About Me

Humphrey Blackburn: Whatcom County, Washington, United States; Humphrey Blackburn has been a student and practitioner of various martial arts since 1979 including Isshinryu Karate, forms of Jujitsu, and Tai Chi hand and sword forms. He has been practicing Wu Style Tai Chi since 1989. He has taught this form since 1998, first in Gualala, California, and in Bellingham Washington since 2006. I live with my artist wife Xan, 4 retired greyhounds, and three cats in Custer Washington.
